| Top on the list of the worldwide toys events calendar, the 43rd edition of HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair 2017 will kick off the new year with novelties and fun at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 9-12 January 2017. As the largest fair of its kind in Asia and the second largest in the world, the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair is expecting to welcome over 2,000 quality exhibitors from around the globe to join this spectacular event in 2017, to showcase a wide variety of products ranging from traditional toys to high tech games. In 2016, the fair has attracted over 45,000 buyers from 121 countries and regions. |

Global Trends in STEM Toys |

STEM toys (toys that specialise in developing science, technology, engineering, or math) have very strong appeal to parents as they contribute to the physical and mental development of their children, in the hope that this will improve their later academic performance. As a result, these child development toys have become a major point for retailers & manufacturers recently. However, according to statistics of Euromonitor International, most markets globally currently have a relatively low percentage of their total toy sales going to scientific / educational products. On a regional level, Asia Pacific leads overall sales of scientific/educational toys with value sales of US$1.0 billion in 2013, with nearly half of those sales coming from Japan. The Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair presents a wide range of STEM toys for buyers to tap into this area of abundant business opportunities. A STEM toys product display will also be set up at Hall 1C entrance highlighting featured STEM toys. |
